Okay, hear me out. I’m starting with a completed build. When I got back into modeling a few ago this was one of the first, if not the first kit I completed. Ive never been thrilled with it, the colors are too stark and the weathering is sloppy. I could have done better then and I sure do better now. Thankfully Bandai kit can be pretty easily dissembled, which I have already done. These some pic i tool not to long after I finished it the first time.

Sweet! More patience than I have!!
Tonight I received an order of "Mege LEDs" from Evan Designs. Fortunately, these little guys fit perfectly inside the clear lens for the engines provided with the kit. The worst part about adding lights to a model is deciding how to run the wires and how much of the inner structure you'll have to remove in the process. Using prewired LEDs as I did here can some times make this much harder. In these pics, you can see cuts I had to make to run the wires out of the engine pods and into the fuselage of the ship. I also added one small led to the cockpit to brighten it up. The plan is to make a stand for the A-Wing out of a 5X5inch gesso board like I am very fond of using. Below you find some design mock-ups I did for cutting the painting masks using my Cricut.
